Staying dry
The success of ScotRail’s alcohol ban on its trains could lead to other operators considering a similar model. From 9pm to 10am, ‘dry trains’ could radically reduce anti-social behaviour, cutting nuisance for passengers as well as costs.
It could also offer operators a better reputation – people travelling in Scotland can be assured that alcohol-fuelled disruption will be dealt with.
The scheme will certainly be one to watch as more statistics are made available on passenger views and improved safety.
