Southeastern has introduced an exciting new update to its app, enabling users to track and share their journeys in real-time with friends and family.
Track My Journey (TMJ) integrates real-time transport data with advanced GPS and mapping technology to pinpoint the user's smartphone location and identify the train they are on. This allows the system to provide accurate information about the remaining journey, including stops and expected arrival times. This feature helps customers plan their day better, ensuring they arrive on time for important meetings or social gatherings.
With just a click, users can share their journey progress in real-time with loved ones, offering peace of mind even if the phone loses signal or is turned off. Additionally, customers can 'pin' their regular service to the app's home screen for easy access.
Track My Journey is compatible with any train operating in England, Scotland, or Wales, as long as the Southeastern app is used.
This new feature complements other recent additions to the Southeastern app, such as the ability to book passenger assistance while purchasing a ticket and a new Ticket Wallet feature.
Astrid Agnew, Head of Digital at Southeastern, said:
“We want the Southeastern app to be the first choice for our customers, whether they travel every day or just occasionally and the introduction of Track My Journey is another step in that direction."
“The system brings together real-time transport information, mapping technology and GPS to accurately locate a specific service and update the expected departure and arrival times. It can help customers to plan a journey, show friends and family an expected arrival time or provide extra peace of mind that a friend or family has travelled home safely.
“The new feature is available now and works alongside a host of other unique features designed to support our growing railway and make it simpler and easier to travel with Southeastern.”
