South Western Railway have launched the latest round of their Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF), announcing that they are inviting bids and proposals for upcoming projects.
The CCIF was developed with the intention to support small and medium-sized community projects to be developed over the course of the year. Earlier rounds of funding have afforded support to more than 70 projects with a combined valuation of over £6m across the SWR network. Collectively, these projects have assisted important local causes an initiatives, which have delivered key benefits and social value upon their implementation.
Bids are welcomed from grassroots or neighbourhood groups, local authorities such as a parish or town council, elected representatives, civic societies, charities, sports teams, social clubs, or any other organisation with a great idea for how CCIF may be able to help their community.
CCIF Manager, Veronika Krcalova, said:
“We are delighted to invite community organisations to apply for funding for their projects from the Customer and Communities Improvement Fund.
“Backing those initiatives that benefit local communities around our stations is just one of the ways in which SWR can show its support for the people who live and work on our network.
“I look forward to seeing all of the brilliant bids and applications we receive.”
The application process for this round of funding will commence next year, starting on the 1st of April 2023 and carrying through until the 31st of March 2024. Before this process commences, bids must be submitted before 23.59 on Friday 16th of September 2022.
