East Midlands Railway (EMR) is making train travel easier for everyone with the launch of new virtual tours for several stations. These tours are particularly beneficial for disabled passengers and those who experience anxiety when traveling.
The virtual tours offer immersive 360-degree views of stations including Corby, Wellingborough, Long Eaton, Loughborough, Chesterfield, Market Harborough, and East Midlands Parkway, with Alfreton coming soon. This allows you to virtually explore all public areas of the station before your trip, including restrooms, customer service desks, platforms, car parks, and drop-off zones.
The web-based tours provide two user-friendly navigation options:
- Autopilot: Choose your desired destination within the station, and the tour will automatically guide you there.
- Manual Navigation: Explore the station at your own pace by clicking through the 360-degree views.
EMR worked closely with their Accessibility Panel, a group of disabled customers, to ensure the virtual tours are inclusive and meet the needs of all travellers.
Emma Davis, Head of Customer Experience at East Midlands Railway, said: "We know many of customers can often feel anxious about taking a trip, especially if they have extra accessibility needs or haven't travelled in a while.
"We hope these virtual tours provide a useful tool for customers when they are planning their journey."
The latest station tours are in addition to those announced last year, of Derby, Sheffield, Lincoln, Nottingham and Kettering
