Simon Kirby to deliver Infrarail keynote speech
Simon Kirby, managing director of Infrastructure Projects at Network Rail, has been announced as keynote speaker at next year’s Infrarail show.
The event, the sister show to Railtex, will take place from 20-22 May at Earl’s Court in London. Kirby’s presentation will follow the publication of the final delivery plan for Control Period 5 (2014-19).
Kirby said: “Network Rail is transforming the way it works as a company and taking the lead in driving change through the rail industry. Our commitment is to build not just a bigger and better railway, but a better value railway too. I’m delighted to be speaking at Infrarail and to be able to share Network Rail’s plans for CP5, which are vital to help meet increasing demand for rail and support economic growth.”
Exhibition manager Heidi Cotsworth, a regular contributor to RTM, said: “We are very pleased that Simon has agreed to speak at Infrarail. Everyone taking part in this event has a keen interest in Network Rail’s future plans, especially as we embark on CP5, so we are sure many people will want to hear what he has to say.”
The Civil Infrastructure & Technology Exhibition (CITIE) will also take place for the first time alongside Infrarail 2014, showcasing infrastructure products, services and equipments.
