Network Rail launches station safety campaign
A new campaign urges passengers to be careful around stations, as Network Rail reveals 1,601 recorded incidents of slips, trips and falls.
Accidents are more likely to occur after drinking, and the new campaign highlights the importance of caution through posters at all Network Rail managed stations and a YouTube video warning of the dangers.
From April 2012 to March 2013 there was one fatality, 51 bone factures, 19 dislocations, 5 concussions and countless bruises, cuts and abrasions.
Leeds, London Paddington and London Liverpool Street were highlighted as the most dangerous stations for such incidents.
