Innovative research at rail conference
Engineers, scholars and scientists working in rail have until the end of the month to submit their research to present at a major conference taking place next summer.
The RailNewcastle Conference 2015, from 15-17 July, will cover innovation and research in many areas of railway studies: rail operations, management and economics; rail system performance and asset management; rail policy and practice; multimodal transport; rail infrastructure; rail vehicles; high speed rail; rail safety & security; rail and the environment; rail, energy and sustainability; ICT in rail and telematics; rail marketing and public engagement; and rail education and training.
The three-day conference, organised by NewRail – the Newcastle Centre for Railway Research – will allow participants to present their research findings and publish their work in peer-reviewed journals. The Research in Transportation Economics Journal is doing a special issue on rail operations, management and economics; the Transport Problems Journal is doing a special issue on rail engineering; and the Urban Rail Transit Journal is focusing on light rail and urban transit. The Social Sciences Journal is doing a special issue on rail education.
Those wishing to participate must submit an abstract by 31 October 2014.
The organisers are Dr Marin Marinov, Rail Education Group manager at NewRail; and Dr Anna Fraszczyk, research associate at the Rail Education Group.
