Person dies after being hit by train in Greater Manchester
A person has died after being struck by a train in Greater Manchester last night.
British Transport Police (BTP) attended the line close to Chester Road in Stretford near Trafford Park train station at 17:55 last night.
A BPT spokesperson said: "Officers from BTP attended the incident, which was reported to police at 17:55 and is currently being treated as non-suspicious. Paramedics also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Trains on the Liverpool to Norwich route were disrupted, East Midlands Trains tweeted.
The BTP has said a file will be prepared for the coroner.
