WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff re-appointed in New Tube for London project
WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff has been re-appointed as the prime system integrator support partner for the New Tube for London project.
The engineering consulting firm is responsible for managing the systems, interfaces and configurations framework in order to allow the upgraded trains and signalling systems to integrate with each other and the existing railway.
The New Tube for London project will add an extra 250 air-cooled trains to the Piccadilly, Central, Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines in order to accommodate London’s growing population.
The invitation to tender to build the trains was finally issued this year, after delays.
Paul Quintavalle, associate system integration consultant at WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff, said: “The New Tube for London will greatly improve the way many of us travel across our capital; and it’s exciting to remain at the heart of London Underground’s Programme team, a place we have earned through hard work and a close client relationship.”
